Man arrested after Benidorm €11,000 armed robbery

A Benidorm gambling establishment was targeted by a 20-year-old man who was armed with a firearm, fleeing with over 11,000 Euros in cash.

The theft occurred in early December where the man entered the establishment with his face covered, threatening the member of staff with the firearm whilst ordering them to hand over money from the till area and the establishments safe.  The man then fled the gambling establishment with the cash, after his calculous and swift attack.

Officers of the specialised and violent crime department began an investigation into the incident, where after examining the crime scene and studying CCTV footage they could identify the individual suspected of the theft. The investigation findings led police to carry out the arrest of the man at Alicante airport in January where he was planning to board a flight to Galicia.
